Accommodation for 10th and 11th October 2019 Conference

CONFERENCE VENUES

Rome is a big city and can easily (and randomly) become very chaotic, this is why we strongly recommend that you book your hotel within walking distance from the Conference venue.

For young Post-Docs and PhD students the San Lorenzo district is certainly the right choice, whereas if you prefer a more peaceful stay pick on hotel in the green zones. If you decide to stay in another district of Rome, our advise is to choose it near an underground station (B-line).

Depending on your needs Rome offers a wide range of different accommodations (Hotels, Hostels, B&B). A list of convenient links to start your search is given below. If you are planning to come in small (2-6 people) groups, also consider booking one of the many available apartments.

Nightlife in San Lorenzo

The district is renowned for its social scene, and young Romans head here after dark to take advantage of the good-value food and drinks. In the summer, the crowds grab bottles of beer and chill out in Piazza dell’Immacolata, the district’s main meeting point, before heading to one of the cheap and cheerful pizzerias such as Formula Uno or Il Podista.

The varied bar scene covers every taste from cosy pubs with beer on tap to hipster hangouts and lounge bar/galleries. San Lorenzo is also famous for its centri sociali, independent, semi-legal social hangouts which organise regular events such as film screenings, courses, live music and dance classes and are centred around Via dei Volsci.
